Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
1. Overview
BullBear.news ("the Site") is an AI-powered market sentiment analysis service. The Site can be used without an account and does not ask for personally identifying information such as your name, email address, or phone number. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
2. Data we collect
- Server access logs: IP address, timestamp, request path, browser information (User-Agent), and referrer — collected for operations, security, and traffic analysis. Web-server (nginx) logs are retained for up to 30 days and then deleted.
- Anonymous first-party usage statistics: we store a random visitor ID in your browser's localStorage (it cannot identify you personally) to measure new vs. returning visits, article reading depth (dwell/scroll), search terms entered on the Site, and a coarse region derived from your browser's timezone. This data is aggregated anonymously and never sold to third parties.
- Google Analytics 4: we use Google Analytics for visit statistics. Google may collect data via cookies. See the Google Privacy Policy for details.
- Web push notifications (optional): only if you explicitly opt in, we store your browser push subscription (endpoint, encryption keys, timezone, chosen topics). You can unsubscribe at any time in your browser settings.
3. Cookies and localStorage
The Site uses cookies and localStorage for: theme (dark mode) preference, remembering dismissed banners, anonymous visit statistics, and Google Analytics. You can block cookies or clear stored data in your browser settings; the Site's core features continue to work without them.
4. Advertising
The Site may display ads served by third-party advertising services, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, and manage third-party advertising cookies at aboutads.info. Before any ads are served, visitors in the EEA/UK will be shown a consent banner (a Google-certified CMP).
5. Your rights
Depending on applicable law (EU GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA, Korea's Personal Information Protection Act, and others), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data. Because the Site does not store personally identifying profiles, most data we hold is anonymous — but we will investigate and respond to any request in good faith. Contact: contact@bullbear.news
6. Data retention
- Server access logs: up to 30 days
- Anonymous usage statistics (daily aggregates): retained indefinitely in non-identifying form for service improvement
- Google Analytics: up to 26 months per Google's policy
- Push subscriptions: deleted immediately upon unsubscribe
